Jim Moeller: Trombone
Jim is a 1987 graduate of the University of Alabama in Business. Bass Trombonist with the University of Alabama Jazz Ensembles, participating in the Memphis Jazz Festival as well as the Disney Collegiate Jazz Festival. Member of the National College All-American Marching Band for the 1986 Statue of Liberty Celebration. Jim has studied with Charlie Vernon (Chicago Symphony), Gail Wilson (Arizona Symphony), Keig Garvin and Dan Drill and former Bass Trombonist with the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra. Moeller has performed with the Temptations, Four Tops, the Ojay's, Mary Wilson & The Supremes, Barry Manilow, Natalie Cole, Little Anthony and The Imperials, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Franki Valli, Eddie Floyd, the Drifters, the Spinners, Bobby Rydell, Joan Rivers, the Bob Hope Orchestra, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, the Guy Lombardo Orchestra, and the Peter Duchin Orchestra. Jim has participated on several recording projects including the Temptations release of "Awesome," Lou Marini, Lew Soloff, the James Clark Project, Mark Phillips, Jo Jo Benson and other local artists as well as numerous jingles and soundtracks for touring musicals. Jim is the bone player for Slo Gin 60's Review as well as substituting as a bass trombonist for other local bands and orchestras. Jim became a member of The Tuscaloosa Horns in 1988, was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame as a member of The Tuscaloosa Horns and has been the steady-as-a-rock bass-bone player ever since.
